Candidate Lee Wolf

SOUTH MIDDLETON CANDIDATE

LEE WOLF

Meet Lee

Hi, I’m Lee, your MIP candidate for South Middleton in the May local elections.

I’m an adopted Middletonian. I was raised in Harpurhey and then bought my first home in Radcliffe. Our family moved to Middleton over twenty years ago and consider myself very much a moonraker!

I’m different from other party candidates; I experience the same issues and have the same concerns you have. I want the absolute best for our community’s future, I want the same for my family as you want for yours!

I’m frustrated by the lack of representation from our three current Labour councilors. If you elect me as your councillor, I pledge to be your voice. I will be transparent, accountable, and always honest in my actions on behalf of South Middleton.

As your councillor and your representative, I will listen, and act upon your needs. I’ll communicate with others on your behalf. I will act with integrity, impartiality, and fairness on issues that affect you. I will always respond to you, unlike the three current Labour councillors.

LEE FACTS

  • I’ve lived in Middleton for the past twenty-one years
  • I’ve been a railwayman since the age of 16, celebrating 34 years of service in July
  • I work tirelessly for the local community through Rotary and other organisations
  • I’m shocked by the lack of respect for residents by the current Labour councillors

…AND most importantly, I’m determined to be YOUR VOICE!

LEE’S PLEDGES TO YOU

  • Our green belt and green spaces are precious. I will fight to protect every square inch from greedy developers who see our green space as theirs to exploit, just as I did as North Middleton Councillor. Brownfield sites must be used instead. I fully support the building of new homes, especially affordable homes, but not on green belt or community green spaces.
  • I will reintroduce Community Forums focused on housing, the environment, and policing. These forums are essential for communication between you and local authorities, and for making sure that your concerns are heard and addressed year-round.
  • Litter and fly-tipping blight this ward, I will insist on the provision of new bins or bigger bins where needed. Working with council officers I will make sure our areas are cleaned thoroughly and all fly-tipping incidents are investigated. I’ll also be happy to help and organise local clean-ups with community groups.
  • We need action on drug dealing hot spots, speeding cars, graffiti, and other anti-social behaviour. I’ll work with the police and council officers and build on the successes I had as a North Middleton Councillor such as helping to end drug dealing, getting graffiti removed as soon as it appears, and making sure the police have enforcement days to help reduce speeding.
  • Our roads and pavements are becoming more and more dangerous, working with you we can identify areas in need of repair and renewal. I will make sure that repairs are completed where needed, and where necessary, major renewal works are planned.
  • Above all, I promise to be accessible and dedicated to representing you. I’m not a career politician, interested in feathering my nest or climbing a political greasy pole. I’m one of you, and my job, if elected, is to be your representative, nothing else, making sure your issues and concerns are addressed – it’s about time you were listened to!
  • I will oppose any new builds in West Middleton that are proposed on our precious greenspaces. I will fight any greedy developer wanting to build on green belt just so they can make more profit!
  • I will reintroduce Community Forums focused on housing, the environment, and policing. These forums are essential for communication between residents and local authorities and making sure that our concerns are heard and addressed year-round.
  • Youth and elderly provision – I will fight for our youth and elderly generations! Working together with other agencies I’ll look at what activities can be provided to both. It upsets me that there aren’t many options for youths to channel their energy in a positive way, and that elderly people can sit alone for days / weeks on end.
  • I will seek better solutions for parking issues and work with council officers to resolve parking issues, especially grass verges and around school drop off and pick up times.
  • I’ll work with Transport for Greater Manchester to seek improvements to transport links and services in West Middleton.

Above all, I promise to be accessible and dedicated to representing you, the residents of Langley and West Middleton.
